Grand Bladerunner vibes from this. I love the intermittent music scattered throughout the first half. It's almost as if cars are passing me by on a street in the middle of a metro.

Do the 80's-like sounds in the first half represent arcade machines? That's what they remind me of. As if I'm walking down the sidewalk, a multitude of sounds passing me by. Myself heedless to it all, only one destination in mind.

Love the 'nobody here' sample @4:11. 😊 So evocative of an empty lifeless metropolis. Except there's birds and signs of civilization, like the TV man in the first two minutes. The horn at 5:06.

That faint piano at 5:56 and 6:24 is beautiful. I wish it was louder, but you do you.

Would you mind sharing what the source for the piano and the drum break at 6:36 is from? You can do so in a PM, if you're worried about divulging them publicly.

All around, well done! I really feel like I'm where you want us.

Many thanks! I was definitely trying to go for the bladerunner vibe which I've always wanted to explore more. Overall this track is made using a lot of samples. I don't mind sharing them although I don't remember all of them seeing as I made this 2 years ago and lost the project file. The faint piano is The Terminal Show from Silent Hill Homecoming. The beat is just a slowed down Amen Break if I remember correctly. Other notable ones are The Wyoming Incident, Beatfox - Planet Healer, and Homestuck - Doctor. Once again thanks for the praise.

Love the sample! What is it? An Arabic string instrument?

Joe-Mega responds:

It's a mandolin actually :)

Dope melody! Could use some drums! Mind if I sample this?

Danish-Person responds:

Sure feel free to sample this. If you end up with something send me a link and I'll check it out

Mice loop B! You ever get around to extending this?

B-RadGfromOV responds:

I made a whole song. Rap verse and sung hook. Took it down tho cause I wasn't too proud of it. Was decent tho

Very cinematic! Love the open-endedness of those piano chords.

Nemira responds:

Thanks! :)

Dope! Love the breaks! Is this a remix of the music used on the Action Replay discs back in the day?

Hikari responds:

haha thats what it turned out to be! Its kind of like a hikari x action replay

Can't believe I never reviewed this after it dropped!

Sick geetar! I can only hope to one day come close to something of this magnitude of smoov.

That snare is dope! 😍 What is it from?

Drums - Galadriel - Such a Fool

Others - Napalis-I'll Smile Pt 2 and Dave Valentin-Kalahari (An Improvisation)

Thanks friendo

Yuss!

That snare is πŸ”₯

Love the violin. Is that a patch of some kind?

S-Rock responds:

Thanks! twas a Cello with a minor vibrato and some effects that I usually use on my electric guitar. I got a pedal hooked up to my tascam just for more effects. Thanks again ^^

Nice!

Love the dialogue samples and the retooling of the Peace excerpt.

Could use a little more oomph in the bass department, but that's a personal gripe.

Euphoric-Danique responds:

Thank you! You are right about the bass, i uploaded it on youtube with a few changes, as well as the bass reduced a bit.

Wow, thought this was sampled from a Boards of Canada track at first. Wonderful synths. What plugin did you use to make them?

That snare roll is really nice. The minimal drums are very fitting on the whole.

I wish the bass stayed after its initial appearance. After it drops out, I'm left craving its accompaniment. Nice that it comes back for 8 bars near the end.

Rorrapalooza responds:

So that synth is a Parsec Spectral Synthesizer on Reason. It's ratio knob between Oscillator A and B is really useful for this track, as it shifts from B in the beginning to A, and then dead center for the "hook."

As for the bass, my plan for increasing cravings worked perfectly, mwahahaha!!! Lol, I know exactly where you're coming from. Sometimes it's a hard choice between maintaining a full groove and extrapolating upon it, or dropping it back down to rebuild it again. In this case, I chose the latter.
